Christy de Back has been working as a sworn translator, transcreator, language trainer and conference interpreter since 1999. Her working languages are Dutch and English.

“In the 1990s I lived, studied and worked in the UK for many years. I was born and raised in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Living in Portsmouth and Manchester, this is when and where my love for the English language originates.”
“More than 3 billion people in the world speak some English, making it a truly global language. It makes sense that more and more English is being used in the Netherlands. Languages are alive and they keep evolving as the world around us is changing too. This makes my work as a language professional really fascinating.”

Christy de Back has been an independent language professional since 1999. She is celebrating her 25th anniversary as an interpreter, translator and language trainer in 2024.
